Branches of Government

We are using quite a bit of BJU Press' Distance Learning Online program this year, and one thing that I'm loving is that it is freeing up my time to do the fun, creative teaching that my heart wanted to do in previous years, but my energy-level just couldn't deliver before. Here is one example of what I mean...

The Three Branches of Government were introduced and well-explained in our BJU Heritage Studies course. The worksheet was great, as well, but there is still no way my children are going to remember the three branches of government without reviewing it frequently. How can they review in a fast, flexible, and re-usable way? Ta-da!... our Build & Remember Puzzle Chart!

Tips & Ideas

REUSABLE PUZZLE - Keep the pieces loose, so they can be used over and over again by multiple children for periodic review.

ACTIVITY - Print additional copies of the Building Pieces and the Background Mat so the students may attach the pieces to make a permanent chart.

LEARNING MORE – If your student is learning additional details, have your student create and add his own pieces!

CHALLENGE – Print an additional copy of the Background Mat only and give it to the student to fill out from memory. He may write the information directly onto the paper, or the mat can be slipped into a clear protector and written on with a dry-erase marker.

DISPLAY CHART - Print the answer key to be a resource chart

STORAGE - Store all the pieces and the answer key together in a clear sheet protector.
